Code of Conduct for Our Coaches
 
  1. Respect the rights, decorum and merit of every cricketer.
    Within the context of the activity, treat everyone equally, regardless of there sex, creed or ethnic background.

  2. Ensure that the cricketers time spent with you is a constructive experience.
    All cricketers are deserving of equal attention and opportunity.

  3. Treat each cricketer as an individual.
    Respect the talent, developmental stage and goals of each cricketer.
    Help each cricketer reach their full potential.

  4. Be fair, considerate and honest.
    Be consistent and open with each cricketer and his/her parents to avoid the negative effects of rumor and second-hand information.

  5. Be professional and accept responsibility for your actions.
    Display high standards in your language, manner, punctuality, preparation and presentation.

  6. Make a commitment to provide a quality service.
    Maintain or improve your current accreditation.
    Seek to continually improve through performance appraisal and ongoing education.
    Provide a training program which is planned and sequential.

  7. All physical contact with the cricketer should be:
    Appropriate to the situation
    Necessary for the cricketers skill development

  8. Refrain from any form of personal abuse toward the cricketer.
    This includes physical, verbal and emotional abuse.
    Be alert to any form of abuse from other sources while the cricketer is in your care.

  9. Provide a safe environment for coaching.
    Ensure that the equipment, rules, training and the environment are appropriate for the age and ability of the cricketer.

  10. Show caution and concern toward sick and injured players.
    Provide a modified training program where appropriate.
    Allow further participation in training and competition only when appropriate.
    Encourage players to seek medical advice when required.
    Maintain the same interest and support toward sick and injured athletes.

  11. Be a positive role model for the sport and the cricketer being coached.
    Coaches need to be aware that they play a most significant role in the lives of the cricketers they coach.
